3/4 Inch Sterling Silver Blue Enameled Shell Miraculous Medal

3/4 x 1/2 inch polished finish sterling silver miraculous medal on an 18 inch stainless steel rhodium plated chain. The pendant, which is shell shaped, features a polished finish border with glass stones embedded in it. In the center is a blue enameled oval with the figure of Mary on it. Surrounding Mary are the words, "O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee." On the back of the medal in a brushed finish is the letter M, representing Mary, surmounted by a cross representing the sacrifice of Jesus, and surrounded by twelve stars that represent the twelve apostles. The origin of the miraculous medal comes from the visions Saint Catherine Laboure experienced in the year 1830 of Mary Immaculate.
